Christine was born in Goleta, CA but was raised in small-town Lompoc in Santa Barbara County. She learned to swim when was 3 years old, but didn’t realize her love for the water until she was 7 years old. Christine learned to boogie board and swam circles around her friends and needed an outlet for her addiction to the water when she couldn’t find the beach. She joined her local club swim team, the Marlines, and eventually moved on to competitive swimming at Cabrillo High School. She also played water polo and was a CIF Finalist and League Champion on both sports and she went on to play water polo at Cuesta College for two years before moving to San Diego. During the off season, Christine taught swim lessons in the summer and coached a neighboring high school’s girls’ water polo team. Although she left the central coast to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education at SDSU, it was only a matter of time before she found Floaties to continue her swim teaching experience. Teaching kids to swim, the importance of dedication and life saving skills became a new passion. Christine’s motto motto in her classes is “Never give up” and instills confidence in even the most nervous and newest students-whether they are 3 or even 9 years old. Aside from teaching swimming, she loves spending free time with her friends and family back home.
