Katie is a native of Mountain View, CA where she began swimming when she was just 3 years old. She joined a competitive, year round club team at the age of 6 and continued her competitive swimming career through both high school and college. She primarily competed in the distance freestyle events and was a team leader and captain at both the high school and collegiate levels. After high school, she relocated to Redlands, CA to attend the University of Redlands, where she completed her undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies (Elementary Education). After completing her degree, she also obtained a multiple subject teaching credential and began substitute teaching in the Redlands area before moving to San Diego. She has taught children in a variety of settings throughout California and has worked with youth of all ages.

Katie is excited to join the Floaties family as she combines her background in teaching and passion for children with her love of swimming. When she is not in the pool, Katie enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
