Nicole Carter is originally from Boston, MA. She relocated to the San Diego area six years ago with her husband who is a drill instructor at Marine Corp Recruit Depot in San Diego. She has over 15 years swimming experience. As a youth she competed in age group swimming all the way through high school. Her love for the pool made teaching swimming lessons an obvious choice. Nicole’s teaching and coaching career began at 15 at the community pool as an instructor and coach for various age group teams. Nicole went to Wheaton College, outside of Boston, to study abnormal psychology and swim at the collegiate level. Her college swim career helped to solidify her leadership skills as captain and help her go on to compete in Australia. During college she coached the Wheaton Masters Swim Club and helped adults of various abilities from triathlon training the first time swimmers. Nicole’s other passion is working with children with special needs. Her experience as an Easter Seals swim instructor and a Special Olympics coach and official helped her combine her two loves of working in the pool and teaching children and parents how to reach their potential. She is currently completing her Masters in Special Education and having fun as a Coach for the San Marcos High School Swim Team. Nicole proudly introduced the newest member of the Floaties Swim School Family, Sadie Marie Carter born December 21st, 2007.
